So I’ve been brainstorming topics to cover 31 days of posts, as inspired by The Nester, who at last count, had over 1,000 other bloggers chomping at the bit to write on 31 days of somethings.
Even as September dwindled down to its final gasp of day 30, nothing fit quite right. So yesterday, I turned to Big Friend for some ideas.
“Why don’t you write about 31 reasons you love your husband?” he suggested.
I paused. Thinking it over.
He misinterpreted my pause. “Maybe you want to hold off until February?” he amended.
The Ode to Big Friend idea did not, in the end, win out, not for lack of ideas, but because another topic bubbled to the surface with more urgency: favorite quotations that have jumped off the page, introduced themselves to me, and which I now carry in head and heart like good friends who can remind me of what’s really meaningful and important in life. Not a day goes by that we all could use a little soul soothing.
The posts may be short and sweet or long and sweet or something in between, but hand to heart, I’ll post something every day.
